In the wake of  development near Charles and Silver Spring Street in Providence, a small footprint still remains.  Between Home Depot and Wal-Mart is West River, appropriately named after a nearby street in back of the Central Post Office.  This small river runs from Canada Pond off of Louisquisset Pike in North Providence.  In back of Home Depot is the remains of a small bridge built in 1915 used to cross West River.
